would anybody like to give me a makeover, i've never worn any make-up other than mascara, eyeliner and lipstick, and also my hair has never been properly 'done'
so i would very much like to have a full make over and then my boyfriend could do a photoshoot in some loverly locations in brighton.
it's your chance for a very willing volunteer.
let me know.

The expression "if it works, don't fix it" comes to mind!

You're just gorgeous!

I would say the only idea would be to either curl the ends of your hair a bit more, or cut an inch or so off, so that the curls don't get all disarranged by your shoulders. Lots of hairspray will help them hold their shape too.

But honestly, you have a great vintage look going on, I don't see a whole lot of room for improvement!

Actually.. I have serious hair/bang envy, I wish YOU could makeover MY hair to look like yours. Yes, you look totally gorgeous there, but if I were in the neighbourhood, I would love to give you a makeover. Is it a specific style you are after?

you are a honey Sian, you don't need to do anything but if you just fancy a change then a shorter hair cut does give you more flexibility with styles. If you just took a few inches off it would help you hold a curl much better.

mak up wise my biggest revelation was when I discovered blusher. I can't be without it now, it makes me feel and look so much more alive and awake. But i'm 9 years older than you poppet.

You have a great vibe going on, I agree!

Leave the bangs - they are great - maybe practice doing some sets, victory rolls, etc? I envy your hair length! I have found using the Vintage Hairstyling book a bunch of fun to try the styles, and you could do nearly all of them.

You look like you have great skin, so have fun with make up - but really, don't try to change things, just have fun with them, you are lovely already!!

Miss Sian-
Which era styles are you attracted to or would you like to try out? Say if you wanted a more thirties style we could make recommendations about brow shape, color, hairstyle/cuts. Who are the hollywood idols that you aspire to look more like?

Currently you look like you are rocking the Fifties styles with a bit of the naughty girl side. I love it and you've got a killer figure. Did you want a more wholesome look or are you going for fem fatale/pin-up? What body shape do you consider yourself and maybe we could make recommendations for cuts of clothing that might be especially flattering.

thankyou so much everyone, you've made me feel amazing, i was just looking through all your pictures earlier and felt i would like to properly know how to do all the styles.
i really love jayne mansfield/bettie page, real femme fatale/pin up style, but i need simple everyday hair and outfit ideas, i love high waisted skirts but always opt for the simple cap sleeve tee under them, and dresses are normally tea dresses cinched in at the waist.
i really need hair ideas more than anything and also how to do foundations, powders etc as i suffer with quite a red pigmentation any ideas on how to tackle this would be good.

Hmmm-
Well perhaps like Mansfield you could try darkening up your brows with a dark brown or black pencil. You've got a good shape to them. She sometimes wears a lighter lippy too from the photos I've seen.

Now that my hair is red - I'm having a tough time wearing red (I miss it!) as it makes my skin look ruddier than it actually is. Perhaps playing up the red tones in your hair with greens and blues in your tops. Try a teatimer or some halters maybe to mix it up?

You've got the betty bang perfect and the length overall seems great. If trying to hit more of a Jayne look perhaps you can try setting your bangs up and back? I use tiny little hot rollers that have about a 1/2" dia. I roll my bangs in one and then a row behind then up and back as well. If you then tried rolling the sides in vertical rollers/pin curls you may end up, after a good brush out, the loose curls she has. I run my fingers up and back to loosen up my curl at the top and tame it off to one side.

Sian you silly bugger!

You always look fabulous!! You have nothing to worry about, come on, you can't go anywhere wthout being chatted up, what does that say?!!!

When I come down we can go make up shopping if you like. And I may show you how to do rolls if you ask me nicely. Oh how girly!!!

Apparently foundation with a green tint is good for red skin tones. Or is it the blue one. Humm. Boots' Natural Collection do a good range of foundations & powders (& it's all dirt cheap!) & their makeup ladies are (usually) quite helpful.

The best thing make up wise I did was start wearing foundation. & Powder. Eyebrow pencil. lippy. Oh I love my makeup! I look half dead without it lol

As for the clothes thing, I wear my May Ball dress to work, so I'm not the best person to give advice I don't think  hehehe

You like my patterns? I make you dress!
