I am puzzled with the system of purchase with Magnoli Clothiers, there are no boxes for measurements and sizing, and with custom suits, there are no option or measuremnt boxes! I really want a suit from them but I have no Idea how to get one properly, help please!

When you create an account you have to complete all your measurements - it gives a pretty handy guide as to how to do it. One thing i would say is that if you want true high waisted vintage style pants- make sure you emphasise the point. His tailors have a habit of making them in a more modern style with a lower waist than I'd have liked

Yes, I second that. The default rise used on by Indy's tailor is very low. Also, I would recommend having your measurements taken several time by different people as a double check.

Thanks, I have been looking for a three piece high cut suit.

I have two suits from Magnoli, one Barnett College and one Marshall. I agree with the rise of the trousers, although I assumed his vintage designs would be naturally high-waisted, I did mention it in my initial order, but perhaps should have REALLY emphasized it, as the rise could be higher.

I am also going to add an inch to the length I provided for waistcoats (vests). Quite good, but sometimes a hint of belt shows when I am not wearing braces/suspenders.

I repeat the note above that when you create an online account, you have access to the measurements page. I copied out the descriptions for each measurement and took them to a tailor so he could follow Indy's suggestions.

Overall I am very happy with my suits and will, as discretionary income allows, make further orders. I have also received the Casablanca tie (very nice), and three cufflink sets.

The Gittes shirts are great too, perfect collars.

One note - if you order a suit jacket with functioning cuff buttons (Barnett College for example), ensure your sleeve length is accurate - there is no slack to let out the sleeves. Mine were just bang on, so I added a bit more on my measurement chart.

I am trying to get photos taken and uploaded, more to follow!

The Barnett Is what I've got my eyes on! I am to request for half-peak lapels on it and higher pants.

Do the shirts work with collar bars?

Yes, I have two vintage silver collar bars and the look is great. I only have three vintage ties (late 20s, early 30s), new deadstock so it was almost a shame to wear them for the first time ever after 80 years or so! Again, I will try to get pics up ASAP!

Finally some pics, not the best (not wearing the jacket - I know, I know, but it was hot and our daughter's school's father's day breakfast with pancakes and maple syrup!): This is the Marshall suit waistcoat. The tie is vintage late 20s or early 30s new deadstock. Very short, I think only 23 inches so it looks (by modern standards) funny without the waistcoat on, no one can tell otherwise. That is also the Gittes shirt (in plain white, I have one also in higher end patterned white, one in "stone" and one in a green, moss or something. NOT wearing the collar bar that day....

That's kind of like the fishmouth - very interesting. I rather prefer the style of the mid 20's meself.

I also contacted Indy a while ago - I was going to have some evening tails made for me when I loose my heft.

Is it true about what a few of the people said here, that sometimes the trousers ain't made very high?

It's absolutely the case pal. I had some Hollywood trousers and a Washington suit. Both are supposed to have high waisted trousers but neither does in practice....
