This show will prove to be a problem. It's so far, away, and beyond from every other series I've ever seen that I fear no other will be able to compare. I try my best to not go into things with expectations, but this program is everything I wanted from visual entertainment, and it is things I never knew I needed from visual entertainment. No other writing is even close to it. No other program has gone through such extensive research and married it with a team of true artists at the top of their field and creativity; developing a full, dense, rich experience. It really does make the rest of TV and movies seem like child's play. It resonates for long after each moment airs. It's not only watchable, but it is re-watchable, which is something even the good shows of today are not.

The best reviews and discussions I've found on the internet are here:

The conversations after each episode (found below the corresponding review) are almost as satisfying and fun as the program itself. The group that gathers there is amazing in every way.

That brown suit with a grey Fedora isn't really working. The brims too small, but I guess they all were in the late '60's.

I know what you mean. Well, I'm glad someone's still wearing a hat on the show, and from another picture, it looks like Cutler does. Maybe Roger and Bert are still going to be seen with one Season 7. I wonder if Don would continue wearing dress hats, at least sometimes, years into his old age in the 21st century? Some people around during hat wearing's heyday never gave up. The last episode featuring a possible flash-forward might even have him wear one of his older suits, ties, and hats, or something close to the look, since the character is well known in fashion circles for representing that style.

Thanks Dr Strange, I enjoyed the Vulture interview.
Interesting to read how Weiner is clear that he's ready to end the show & move on, no sequels, prequels or spinoffs.

But I must admit, Im not at all impresseed that AMC had him split up the final season into two mini seasons....
But maybe it will have a more interesting story arc that way.

OH,and btw, I totally missed the story on Jon Hamm's rumoured throat cancer last fall.

My father wore a hat everyday whenever he left the house. Just one of that generation

Well its all been an embarrassment of riches for AMC trying to develop Mad Men, then Breaking Bad, then Walking Dead.
No sense in having theses shows compete with each other for awards, so AMC started staggering the production scheds. And withthe poor economy, its really the only way to have kept MM going without cutting the cast.
Now with Breaking Bad gone, theyre milking Mad Men's finale.
But its been such a drag to endure the long wait for MM eps, it really killed my enthusiasm for the show.

I don't know but after how "The Walking Dead" and "Game of Thrones" have upped their game recently I found the entire episode quite boring. NOTHING, not even Roger's hippie, drug enduced orgies had any staying power. For the first time since beginning this show... I just didn't care.....
