There are 2 of these for sale on the 'Bay right now, a size 42 and a size 36, both are Gordon & Ferguson model coats and appear to be in good condition.
Good luck on your search.
Ok, I waited patiently, and scored the USN Transport coat that I wanted. I'm anxiously awaiting its arrival . A Willis & Geiger M69D zipper model. Similar to Dinerman's but with a lower contract number . I believe Willis & Geiger were awarded the first contracts so it could be prewar. I'll bet someone here can date it by that number. I'll post better pictures when it arrives. I'm Jazzed!
Nice pick up, pilot error! Largest size I ever came across was a 42 in rough shape in a vintage clothing store (tried it on but it was a bit small for me). Would love to find one in decent condition in a size 44.
Good luck with it.
Thanks guys, thor.....as breton said in an earlier post in this thread theoretically they're cut one size larger than stated (presumably to layer clothing underneath). that seems to be the rule of thumb, but if the sizing varies from one maker to another like the G-1's.........that being said there's a sweet looking 42 G&F on Ebay right now with a low starting bid.
