But there's one thing, you all as pet owners may can answer.

What do cats do, that they sometimes have so badly injured ears?? Where they to careless at a metal fence or a rough hedge? I mean, such bad looking scratches and cuts.

Half hour ago, I called my hairy girlfriend Misaki at the bus and rail stop and when she came, I thougt: "Jeesus, what you've done with you left ear?? That's, why she was moaning so unsual. I took my pocket flashlight and I fully saw the mess. Last week, left ear was fine.

Surely, her owners saw it. I know them. :)

If they're roaming free, they're fighting with other cats.

My wife was headed to the dentist yesterday morning and saw this dog near the intersection of our dirt County road and a two-lane State highway. This is an area that sees almost no traffic. Upon my wife’s return a few hours later the dog was still there and was very skittish — running into the field when my wife approached. She was convinced that the dog was dumped as the dog stayed at that spot throughout the day and someone had tossed a blanket and some pajama pants her direction (not that they were doing much good where they landed).

So after work I went there as it was cold outside (expected zero-F temps overnight). She was still there. I brought her some food and talked to her for a while until I was able to approach her. Some pats on the head, kind words and some dog treats got her friendly enough to pick up and load her in the car. I took her to the neighbor’s as he has a heated shop. We both hung out with her, fed her some more, gave her fresh water and some bedding. He checked on her overnight and I brought her breakfast this morning and loaded her up for a trip to the vet.

No chip so I had her checked out and vaccinated. A case of round worm (not surprising), but in good shape otherwise. She’s about a year old and not spayed. She’s hanging with the neighbor while the worm meds do their thing — as I have five Poodles that don’t need to be exposed to that. Then we’ll figure out where she’ll end up. Hoping my daughter can take her.

I had to give a name to her for the vet records so she’s now known as “Corn Dog”.

It makes me so mad when people treat animals like carbage. Thank goodness there are also people like you. Well done, sir, well done!

Maddie...

She was a chocolate lab/pit mix. My soul dog...my shadow. Got her when she was 4 months and I was 65...my first dog ever. We did just about everything together...we were seldom apart for her 10 years on earth. She had many quirks, one being that she wanted a long walk every morning, rain or shine or snow, we never missed. One week after her 10th birthday "party", after a regular morning walk and routine, she collapsed on August 30, 2024 from multiple aggressive tumors on her spleen.
She crossed the bridge at 5:01 that afternoon.

...5 1/2 year old Whippet /Lab mix, abandoned at a kill shelter in Swainsboro, Ga, placed on the euthanasia list due to severe heart worm, bronchitis, infested with fleas, alopecia, a broken tooth. Rescued by a group and given medical treatment and a loving environment, before her arrival in New Jersey.
Out of grief and curiosity, my wife and I went to an adoption event on January 11, 2025. We had no intention of adopting.
The crowd was walking past her crate with no interest. I paid her no interest. After about an hour of us walking around and checking out other pups, this gentle Whippet made eye contact with my wife, sat up in her crate, and never broke her gaze. When I saw my wife from across the room, I saw tears in her eyes. When I read the sheet attached to her crate, and looked into her sad eyes, I knew she was ours, and that I'd spend every day trying to erase whatever she endured her first 5 years.
They say the dog you love today was sent by the dog you loved yesterday. Maddie knew us inside and out. She sent us a perfect companion for two 76 year olds....mellow, loving, low maintenance, and happy with short slow walks.

How anyone could dump a dog like they were garbage is beyond me...
