A friend of mine directed me to this site he had referenced. The purpose of the site is to document (in photographs) jobs and roles that no longer exist. The pictures may have been mundane for many people, but are incredibly interesting, not just for what they document, but in looking at a glimpse of time.

Don't know why, but this picture really stunned me - a very stark contrast to usual images from the date (the attributes say 1943, but I would bet it to be earlier)

Publish Date?

Maybe the photograph was published in 1943 rather than taken in 1943. Of course, it may have been taken in 1943 with the women dressed in an "old fashioned" manner for the camera.

Just a thought...
