And also possibly some rough measurements? I wear a 42R on my Cooper g-1, but have heard Coopers run a bit small.

How is the sizing and fit on the LW G-1s? I'm considering one secondhand.
I assume "true" means an actual jacket chest of 40".
Is it the typical V shaped cut, ie tight waist vs chest size?

Yes it is true to size.I own a original Foster early 55J14 w/the scallopped pocket flaps that is a 40 and it does have the trim fit also,but the length of body is shorter.BB
