looking for larger sizes

Hello,

A friend of mine is looking for a 1930s suit but he has a rather large size, there will be very few original sizes around.

Has anyone got any tips for him?
Is there a site that sells extra large vintage clothing or someone that can make a suit for a nice price?

what means rather large? size 50, 52 chest? Up to a point there is stuff available, though i don't know of a website or store that specifically caters to such needs.

From reading what the larger gents on this forum say, i suspect he may be out of luck. There's always custom, if finances allow ...

Every vintage menswear seller hopes to find extra large clothing. Large sizes are rarer, so they sell for much higher prices.

AARRRGGGH! I just checked: the suit I was referring to has sold. It was a "buy-it-now" auction that had been sitting in someone's eBay store for months. A brown windowpane striped suit: single-breased, peaked lapels. Custom made in New York. Size 52 R. Sorry about that!
