They don't go over the knee, just over the calf. I suppose they would work better with plus eights or normal dress trousers.

Look great. Maybe one day - for now, a fair bit out of my price range (I tend to pick up half a dozen pairs for that price).

True, they are pricey. Even at sale price. But the problem with the cheap socks is they don't hold up well, tend to look quite boring and they don't go over the calf.
