Does anyone have any suggestion for getting mild wrinkles out of the brim of a lightweight felt fedora?

Also....the front pinch is tending to want to run all the way down to the ribbon on one side??

Ideas??

Thanks!

I also had that happen - one from Art, another was a vintage. A touch of steam, as cooncat suggests. You could also pop the dents out of the crown and put a t-shirt in it for a couple of days after you steam it. Then reshape gently by hand. The brim wrinkles, if they're bad, might benefit from being flattened under a book or something for a while.

Thanks, very much, for the suggestions gentleman.

How much steam is appropriate. Should the felt be steamed until it is soggy, lightly damp......what's the rule of thumb here?

Thanks again!

I use just enough to warm up the felt. A heavier stiffer felt like a Federation need more steam then a light weight felt hat to make it pliable.

Thanks for the advice and help. As Art suggested, just a pass over steam allowed me to do a fair job of reshaping the bash and getting it to cooperate and hold the shape I wanted.

Now if only it actually fit my head!!lol

Art, be on the lookout for a USPS package mid-next week and thanks for the offer via email to help! Just don't let it slow down my order for the custom hats!!:)

And just so there's no confusion, this is a VS hat, but it was not made for me and the real problem is that it doesn't fit correctly; something that Art has generously offered to help rectify.
