Well, time to bite another bullet and just live with the fact that this is too big for me. I bought this jacket in the late 1990s (just possibly 2000, or 2001), and clearly it's not available any more since they make 'em in limited numbers. This is a great repro of the 1944 S506XX jacket in size 36 - though it seems to have some features from the '41 model, and some from the '44 model. See here for details: http://www.vintagemotorcyclejackets.com/index-denim.htm. Too big for me. Intended for someone with a longer torso and arms. It has been washed leading to the expected fading/patina and *I think* it won't shrink any more, but i don't make any promises. There is no fraying to any of the denim. It's hardly been worn due to the size issue.
The most recent LVC jacket retails for about 180 GBP (~$360), and you know how much the LVC jeans cost in the USA. http://www.levisstore.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=2068693&cp=2068573
I'm asking nowhere near that for this jacket.
Measurements:
Chest: 20.5"
Shoulder: 18"
Length: 23.5"
Arm: 24.5"
Front. Single pocket and double pleats on each side of the opening.
Adjustable buckle back.
Side, displaying just how much this is too big for me. Look at the bunching in the back. Not elegant at all . . .
Wheat-sheaf buttons. The back of the buttons are stamped 555.
Tag showing red line selvage denim.
PM if interested.
