Bargain! They say to expect shrinkage of 2" overall, so went with 32" x 34". Interested to see how they turn out.

They do seem a bit oversized to compensate for the shrinkage. I bought these in a size 38 which is what I wear in most jeans and they were a bit loose (I had the strap tightened all the way and they were still very loose). I soaked them in cold water and they now fit fine. The high waist does make these fit quite a bit differently from most modern jeans though.

Isn't it normal that shrink-to-fit jeans only fit properly after soaking them?

I remember as a kid, buying the STF Levis at Sears Roebuck & head on out to the Gulf Coast with my buddies . We put them on & went in
to the ocean & wore them all day & they would shrink to fit.

Nowadays I’ll just use a hose & when semi-dry, I’ll wear them around the backyard to do chores.

This pantaloons are the style I really like. I bought a 36x34 having in mind that I usually wear a 33x32 or 34x32. I found some fit pictures and sizing from some forums and stores:

I read that this size a bit bigger than normal but I guess that's to be expected as they are shrink to fit. I plan on putting them in the washing machine to shrink them, I hope I got the right size, otherwise I guess I will have to get a different size while they're still in stock, I love the fit!

As you can see, some people put suspender buttons on their pants to keep them on the waist. I like that they have reinforced knees and crotch.

I have a pair of these that came with suspender buttons only but no belt loops ( I was aware that this was the specs for these pants from that period)
On one pair I have added several belt loops, the other jean remain original with no modifications.

On another LVC jeans from a later era, I ordered a particular style that included the rivet on the crotch & also on the rear pockets.

I suffered the indignity of sitting in the bath with my pair on this afternoon - amazing how you can feel stupid, even when nobody else is watching - and then slopped around the house for the rest of the afternoon until they were 75 per cent dry and I had to head out for a screening of Amy (v good, go and see it). Not sure how they'll shrink fully, but hopefully they'll hit the 30" waist size, otherwise I'm facing having to put a set of brace buttons on them or selling them.
