Leather Jacket price bump again.

As a nearly professional window shopper I noticed today that Thurston Brothers raised their Thedi prices by $50 each from a quick scan. As someone who is(maybe was now) saving up for one this is disheartening. The Vanson jacks I was looking at have remained the same. I'm new to the leather jacket scene but it seems like they've gone up a lot in the last 10 years or so? I just bought an Aero and was told it used to cost about 700£ my total is 300£ more. Of course my leather selection and other options added 145£ but that would still be 875+65£ shipped. Mine was 1,049£ +65£ shipping.
The Thedi went from 1,799 to 1,849.99

Just interesting I guess! Definitely not making me sad or anything.

In all honesty, don't do it. Paying a grand for a leather jacket is diabolical, especially with so, so many used ones floating around. Just relax and hunt. It's a fun and guaranteed way to make your jacket turn up.
At a little over 6'5" it's not easy to find anything that fits in the leather jacket world. Especially Japanese companies.... Thedi's 2XL seems close to a good fit so that's why I was eyeing one.

It’s probably the result of the increase in prices of new leather jackets but it seems the asking price of pre-owned or secondhand jackets is also going up.
A scan of the online auction and classified sites finds that over the past few months there has been a noticeable increase in jackets with some very optimistic prices being listed.
However, judging by the number of times these jackets are having to be re-listed due to not being sold it would appear buyers are unwilling to pay the unrealistic prices being asked.

Heh, well, at least nothing by the Japanese makers would fit you well if you're not Japanese, regardless of your height.

As for Thedi, sure, I hear you but the thing is, you are looking into buying what is pretty much a textbook example of luxury goods so luxury prices is what you should expect to pay.
Does two hundred dollars really makes such a difference at this price tier?

If it does, one definitely should be considering alternative options, such as 5 Star.

Desired objects seen to go up in price all the time.
Whether it’s a Rolex “Pepsi” or a Porsche 911 - the best moment to pull the trigger was yesterday.
It doesn’t help to try to “save money” and go for second tier products. They just loose their value over time.

The only advice is, try to find the value in things, not the price. I enjoy every nice wristwatch I see on somebody and every fancy car I see in the streets. I enjoy their beauty, their allure, and I enjoy complimenting the owners and striking a chat with them.
Was a good moment in my life when I discovered, I don’t need to own beautiful things to appreciate them.
