I happened to see the actual book at Borders last evening.

Strangely, those photos bring back a lot of memories. My father was a Portland police officer who used to collect old mugshots of some of the most peculiar looking perps. Ya gotta love the hats and suits.

I can see why you might think that, but compare them to this shot, as the similarity has to do with the 'fore and aft' crease that was more standard before the 'montana' peak most people identify:

Interesting. Not only are there some great hats in the lineups. There are some incredible hang overs as well.

I for one would feel so much better if the thug robbing me or blowing my brains out were well dressed. It would add so much class to the act.
