Labels of importance?

Hi everyone:
I was at my local thriftstore yesterday and was checking out all the vintage mens suits and jackets (tons of them). I purchased a few but I put several back not knowing enough about the labels. What are the labels I should look for as far as 1920's-1930's. Or is there a website that lists labels so I can check. Also is there certain material suits/jackets were made of in those eras. Thanks! chloe.

I thought it might be fun to have a discussion about vintage clothing labels, so I decided to revive this dormant thread.

I'd love to know of a web site -- an online database, if you will -- devoted to labels, not only for educational purposes in debating future purchases, but for the sheer fun of enjoying the vintage graphics depicted on the labels.

But barring that, I'd like to see labels here that evoke the Golden Era, and I'll start things off with a picture of a label that I saw on a sports coat in a vintage store in Pittsfield, Mass., last weekend. I didn't buy the coat, but I loved the label (please forgive the blurry pic):

Anyone else have some favorite vintage labels to share?

Glad that you revived this thread; hopefully it will generate interest. I'll post some labels that I have from suits/sport coats, although I've got more from neckties (love the label that you've posted!). Finding a label on an article of clothing usually makes the item more appealing to me as a collector/wearer. Anybody else feel the same? (For a good label, see Resortes' avatar.) By the way, Skyvue, I am still jealous of you having that Brock Hats blotter...
