He died of a broken heart

After being connvicted in the ENRON rape of the consumer, he was so remorseful, I bet he died of a broken heart. Greed clogs your arteries. And the lesson learned, "you can't take it with you" is loud and clear.

Do you think there was any funny business going on?
I assume the stress killed him.

I know! But if he had lived I am sure the case would have gone to appeals court for years...so we have been spared!
True.

He was in Aspen after all. Maybe he was doing something an out-of-shape 64-year-old shouldn't be doing, like...um...kayaking? What does one do in Aspen in the summer?

"He had it comin' --- he had it comin' -- he had it comin' all the time...."

Which is just as well, since I really didn't like the idea of my tax money going to support his stay in some cushy Club Fed when I can barely pay my rent. If ever there was a guy I'd like to have seen in a striped suit on a chain gang, it's him.

I agree that stress or remorse or guilt, etc. may have killed a *nice* person who did something like this. Example: Just yesterday, I was feeling kind of glum and snapped at my cousin (who happens to be my best-est friend in the whole wide world). Last night and today, I felt like such a heel :( for being mean to her. I apologized profusely and even baked her some cookies. I still feel bad about it.

Now, someone who could even do what this guy did, I don't think it was stress, remorse, etc. that killed him. This is only my opinion of course, but, I think he did himself in, I think death would be better to him than facing jail time, no matter how posh a jail it may have been. [huh] If he had been the kind of guy who would have felt bad about stealing from people, he wouldn't have done it in the first place or since we all make mistakes, he wouldn't have continued doing it. You know?

It couldn't have happened to a more rotten guy.

Apparently, his health was as deteriorated as his ethics.

.

Not to defend KL but Andrew Fastow was the architect of the Byzantine derivatives scheme that blew up Enron. KL gave Fastow carte blanche to run these programs and for that he is guilty of shirking his fiduciary responsibilities, to both the employees and stockholders. I believe that it is entirely plausible that KL had no real understanding of what Fastow was up to but, as I said, that's not a defence.

What's Andrew Fastow's blood pressure level? :whistling

Fastow will be out of prison before Skilling begins his sentence. Fastow's 10 year sentence was/is a joke but DOJ needed someone to flip. Often, the biggest perps will get off easy if they rat out the Big Cheese(See Sammy "The Bull" Gravano)

the same all over

We got ourselves a scumbag here ripped off 300 mil from mum/dad investors, still driving a Rolls and getting something like 2 grand a week 'expenses' from all the money in his brother's name while his victims sell their houses or hang themselves. The French Revolution had a few things going for it.
