One Too Many
Having scored (for old time's sake) a pair of snakeskin Justins recently, I was horrified when a passer-by wanted to know why I had the shaft inside my jeans....well I always thought that unless one was riding through the sagebrush near a lonesome pine, one didn't expose the shaft, only women would tuck the jeans in for social wear.....any Westerners out there with a comment on this?
Same thing with my Justin Ropers...it just isn't done to my knowledge.

Out here in California, jeans tucked into boots were last seen on the feet of the late Roy Rogers (aka Leonard Franklin Slye) before he passed away on July 6, 1998.

Buckaroos

Working cowboys in the high desert country (Nevada, Western Oregon and Washington state) do wear their jeans inside of their boots. These are very tall-shafted boots (16-17 inch shafts) that can be very colorful. They're known as buckaroos. They're worn with chaps known as chinks. I, myself, have only put my jeans inside my boots if I don't want to get my jeans muddy or wet.
