I have some vintage hats with small moth craters. I try to look at them the same way I would certain antique furniture with wormholes in it. Gives it even more character.
That is a beauty -- is it the same color as presented in the photo?
Chad:
That looks to be a very fine hat, indeed. Can you describe your impressions of the hat, particularly the felt and construction, in more detail? The minute I saw the detailing on the liner I got excited.
Welcome to the Brent Lover's Club. I have a Brent Adventurer and I wear it fairly often. Is your's an Adventurer? It looks just like mine except mine is a blue gray. You have something there that I have been looking for for a while though. You have the original booklet and box. That is very cool to have. Perhaps I can weedle a copy of it from you some time.
I am guessing you already know that these were made under contract with Lee. I think you can see the family resemblance from this ad from Lee for what they call their "Adventure."
The ad I posted is from 1953 so that might be a guide of age. They were made before and after that though. I collect these ads just to get an idea of when they might have been made but it is still not a perfect way to guess age.
Sweet hat! I was actually looking at this one, but not my size! I second the post about the booklet - that would be a good read if you could make it available. Congrats on a very nice find. :cheers1:
