Joining the Cavanagh Company...

To be honest, that was half the reason I bid on it. I'm curious to see one of their hats and examine the felt. The fact that the price came out right doesn't hurt my feelings a bit.

Well, the Cavanagh is in, and there's good news and bad news. The good news is that it's in great shape, and is in a wonderful original Cavanagh black hatbox that's also in great shape.

The bad news is that it's a stingy brim with a 1 7/8" brim. It's simply not my style. I'm not sure how I missed this - I was sure that I emailed the seller to confirm brim width and crown height, but I can't find any emails showing this, nor can I find any responses. I can say that the edge treatment is about the nicest I've ever seen.

At any rate, the hat will be going in the classifieds this weekend, complete with pix.
