The most dangerous place on earth. When I became a member a few years ago now I was going to buy one really nice jacket. Let’s see what this place has to say about that. Now I have 8 leather jackets, a couple of hats, some pairs of boots, sweaters.....I’ll let you know if I ever find that “one” leather jacket.

Nice photos of it being worn; definitely very similar (except leather!) to my 'overshirt' jackets. Enjoy.

Agree. The jacket looks great when paired with outfits with a workwear vibe, esp since it fits and wears similar to a modern (slightly slimmed down) chore coat. As Edward mentions, you can see some kinship to a trucker with the pockets and the sleeve cuffs.

It's a style I would like to see more often or even adopted by some of the great makers. It's so casual, comfortable, nonchalant, easy to wear....but then I'm partial to chore coats. I would love to get a hold of another that fits me. Despite its shirt-like appearance in the photos, the thing has substance and weight, and you know you're wearing a stout, well made leather garment.

Have you checked out Aero's Premier line 20s work coat? That might be coming close.

The Premier Line 20s Work Coat appears to have a lot more detail/working than this one - a much more complicated coat, not really a leather shirt jacket. There are a number of them out there, though... The Flat Head and Iron Heart make some in deerskin that look rather nice, and Indigofera have a horsehide version of their shirt jacket. (Not as vintage style, of course, but nice.)

I hadn't seen that horsehide Indigofera until just now. It's really nice, and the closest thing I've seen to this Johnson Leathers piece. The pockets are remarkably similar. The Indigofera looks slightly more cropped in overall length than the JL which works better for my build. I like it.

Thanks Edward for the mention of the Aero 20s Work Coat. I've always admired that one. It does seem closer what I think of as a true coat in design and detail, especially from the rear. But it's a beauty.

The Indigofera Eagle Rising in horsehide is actually quite different in feel - it's a fairly stiff, smooth horsehide. Saw it today at a Standard & Strange. Maybe with a lot of intentional break-in work...
