If you're looking for a pair of gutties (plimsols!), they're a nice design. I would have considered them back when I still wore gutties regularly. For a long time, I wore Converse almost exclusively, but I stopped buying them when Nike took over. Incidentally, Jack Purcells were originally a PF Flyers design, not Converse. Back in the early Seventies, before Reebok, Nike, Addidas, et cetera, the US government became concerned about Converse's dominance of the "sneaker" market, and the company agreed to sell of PF Flyer to create independent competition. They did, however, retain the Jack Purcell model for themselves, selling that design rebranded as a Converse shoe.
