J. Peterman sport jacket (English shooting jacket)

Found via eBay, and forgot to post about it. I've no idea which particular Peterman item this is, nor do I have any real information on it. Certainly stands out. Has a total of eight pockets - three inside, five outside. Fits very well. Three button. Single vent. Has some form of action back. Very thick.

I like it. Quirky, yeah, but nifty.

The collar button hole does, in fact, have a button associated with it on the other side. It's functional.

They're not vintage-high, but they're not half bad either. Combined with the action back you've got a pretty good range of motion.

It's an English Shooting Jacket from what I have seen on the Bookster site especially with those angled pockets and the action back..

It certainly is styled after a British shooting / sports jacket although the slash pockets are more common on shooting coats.

I like that jacket! Good show, AG. I love the action pleats on a jacket. My favorite sport coat is an LL Bean Traveller, which has a belted back and action pleats. Alas, for some silly reason they've stopped making them. As the name implies, it travels quite well, too.
