Show us your hats paired with the proper hat box…

Even though it makes storing them an even bigger problem (takes even more room), I am a big fan of having a hat in its proper hat box. I think it is really cool to have a hat in the box it would have come in when new.

I have only a few like this, but I cherish them all…

I wish I had more like that, but the truth is I store 99% of my hats in triple hat boxes (they are vintage, too, though) because I just don't have the room to store each hat in it's own separate box. I'd love to have my whole collection, each hat in it's own proper-to-the-era hat box. It's just not practical, though, unfortunately.

Love the set! I have that model hat box, too. I've spaced it out so I can get three hats in it. 1 low crown hat and the rest higher.

Here is the original box for a Stetson Amon Carter/Shady Oak 7X Clear Beaver Open Road. Hat had never been worn or creased. Dates to circa late 40's. These are the auction photos:

JtL, I don't know how you found that Shady Oak (and I believe I read the thread when you originally posted) but again, that is an incredible lid...

Thanks, guys. Monbla -- It's a Stetson Shady Oak Open Road. The "Shady Oaks" is the hat currently produced by Peters Brothers. (Just to keep this thread on track, any "Shady Oak" discussion is probably better accomplished in this thread.
