Good things come to those who wait. I guess that I am living proof. I stopped at an estate sale yesterday and sitting just inside was this Jiffy j-2 steamer. What a jewel, I used it this morning for the first time and let me tell you, it beats standing over a tea kettle. In under 2 minutes, I had all the steam one could want. It was missing the water jug, so I have ordered one at a whopping 6.50. That added to the original cost of $4.00 and I have a $200 steamer for just over ten bucks.

They make one just for hats, the J-1. It seems to be just like the J-2 only it is a tabletop model. The one I picked up, gives the flexibility to steam a suit or dress as well. Given the choice I think I like the flexibility of the J-2. I would recommend one of these to any and all who enjoy doing basic work on their own hats.

I use a similar unit. Having that hose allows you to really pinpoint where you are applying the steam. I love it.

I've been thinking about getting one of those, Bud, so I'm envious of your find! :D My wife and I both have work clothes that could use a steaming to relax wrinkles in from time to time, and of course I have some hats I want to work on...

Cheers,
Tom
