This is actress Rosamund Pike. I love the soft curl and the part in the hair.

If so, what era would this style be from?

Hmm... The closest thing it reminds me of is a mid- to later-1930s 'do, with the fingerwaves or permanent wave having been "lived in" for a little bit. Of course it's not lived in; the smooth looseness/ringlet effect is modern.

Of course, I'm guessing mainly because of the definite waves on the top of the head. From a distance, it might resemble more a non-bangs early 1940s style. Either way, it's very pretty, and on a lovely actress. :)

I wouldn't really call it vintage, per se, but perhaps vintage inspired. The waves/curls don't look to be placed deliberately enough. That tousled look is much more modern. Also, her part isn't straight, which I don't think you ever would have seen back in the day.
