I got this off Jihad Watch...very disturbing...Articles 3 and 4...

3. Any individual with another nationality (except for Israel) may obtain Iraqi nationality after a period of residency inside the borders of Iraq of not less than ten years for an Arab or twenty years for any other nationality, as long as he has good character and behavior, and has no criminal judgment against him from the Iraqi authorities during the time of his residency on the territory of the Iraqi republic.

4. An Iraqi may have more than one nationality as long as the nationality is not Israeli.

Not that any Jew would want to be an Iraqi citizen...

But, I'm starting to revise my opinion of the war. Not that I think it's not just and reasonable. And not that I don't think the Iraqi goverment does'nt have the right to develop their own constitution, but...I can't quite lay my finger on it...

First of all, I'm sure their are some Jewish Americans fighting over there.

I agree with you, it's pretty offensive, but what choice do we really have? We can't fight for democracy In Iraq and then dictate their constitution to them.

Israel seems to be a lump thats hard for the Middle East to swallow, and no matter who we help "democratize" or not, Jews just don't seem that popular.

I agree with this statement.
Are we(the USA) really one to dictate matters on racism? I love our country as much as the next guy but am honest enough to realize we have our faults when dealing with race. In case anyone thinks this is old history read about Long Island, N.Y.'s relations with their Mexican laborers. I guess the irony in this story is we want out cheap labor but do not want to see the people that do it?

Back to the topic, I read it and think...and? Let us get this "war" over with, our soliders home, and let people fight their own battles for Democracy. If that is what they truly desire...

A simplistic attitude displayed by me? Yes. I am just about fed up with us "little people" bearing the brunt of our leaders Democratic(or is it business?) minded goals.

A little off topic but why are we as American not more in an uproar about big oil and their profits. I was just readng about Conoco Phillips showing a 56% increase in profits. We are at War and you see these oil companies taking huge profits while they keep raising the price of gas at the expense of our economy. Does anyone else besides me see this as being less than patriotic? We (middle class Americans) are expected to fight, pay the taxes, (I'm self employeed 38% bracket) while these companies are posting HUGE profits and just got HUGE tax breaks (some 6 Billion) while raising oil prices that will if gone unchecked threaten our economy and our way of life.
