What do you think of this? I picked it up for around $38.

It's very heavy wool, partially lined, and has these interesting flap pockets. It's very mod, but has a nice classic look.

It has a very nice Belted back, partially detached:

Nice bold lapels:

Here is a nice view of the fabric with a nice red and blue stripe:

It sort of reminds me of this:

The buttoning point is perfect, the back is excellent, the lapels are superb, and the stripes are out of this world. Other than that, I have nothing to say. :)

HJ, are there any maker labels? It's an interesting combination of a suiting fabric (pinstripes) with less formal detailing (flaps and belted back). Could it be Dr. Who-mingway Jones?

It says:

"Royal Fabric
Tailored by Foreman & Clark"

On the other inside pocket it says, "Styled in London."

There is a post 1949 Union Tag, which I believe was used until 1969.

It is partially lined with this deep green, slightly iridescent fabric leading me to believe that it is Mod mid-sixties.

I like it because it is tough as nails.

Thanks for the nice comments. :)

Bravo Hemmingway! :eusa_clap That's a great jacket. That style would never work on me, but it looks like it was made for you.

Bravo!

Dear Hemingway,

First I thought this was made-to-measure for you.
When I saw that this is antique than I said this is a very good find!
The back part looks like the Norfolk Jacket, but not exactly the same cut.
The pattern and the color are very elegant, not so sportsy as the Norfolk pictured in Roetzel's book.
I saw in theatre also such jackets (other material) as the costumes of two characters who played an aristocratic family's youth members.
This jacket perfectly suits you.

Congrats.
