Hey all,
A shop near me has a couple interesting items for sale, and I thought I'd check and see if anyone was interested. Both are $80 in the shop, and I'd ask $30 additional to cover shipping and just a few bucks for my time and gas money. If you're outside the US, I can still ship to you, but we'll need to work out the details. PM me if you're interested in my picking up either one for you.
First is a size 38R tuxedo from the early '30s with the National Recovery Act tag that was only used 1933-35. It's in pristine condition. Single breasted, peak lapel, with a fancy waistcoat. IIRC the trousers are around a 30" waist.
Second is a US Navy Captain's uniform dated 1943. Tagged size is 39L; It'd probably also work for a 40L and possibly even 41ish. It's also in excellent condition. A slight bit of shine to the trousers, but no moth damage, holes, stains, etc. One button's missing, but it's in the pocket. I suppose you could try unstitching the rank insignia from the sleeves, change the buttons, and have a perfectly serviceable if slightly unusual 6x3 DB navy suit, though personally it seems a shame to mess with a uniform like that.
