Okay, time to buy more Fedoras, as they're back and I only have a brown one.

Okay, so maybe they aren't really back, and I'm just looking for an excuse.

Anyhow, I have a lot of broad brimmed hats, but, for my town job, I only have two non newsboy hats (and I only have two functioning newsboys). One is a 20 year old Stetson Open Road, and the other is a brown "Royal Stetson" fedora.

I've decided that I clearly new a silverbelly thin ribbon Fedora, and perhaps a black Fedora. Not sure why, I just do.

If I'm to keep this reasonable, that is good quality but not outlandishly expensive. Not bargain basement, but a good quality hat, probably from one of the manufacturers, rather than a custom hat (which would be nice, but I best wait for later to acquire). Nice hats in the Fedora genre.

Recommendations?

Pat H, It appears that your timing is impeccable. Akubras are a very good value right now. Check some of the recent Akubra threads. The Akubra Campdraft might be just what you're looking for.

Might I suggest a Johnnyphi fedora?

I have a few thin ribbon hats left in my collection. Unless your hat size is bigger than 7 1/2, you should find something that fits your requirements.

How about a Douglas?

I keep going back and looking at the Miller Douglas - more expensive than a Campdraft, but I just love the way it looks. The fawn on the website is sweet, and it does come in Silverbelly. Just another option to torture yourself with...
