Under $100 AND trustworthy. ;)

While there is no doubt that the Wentworth, Federation or any other Akubra you get from Hatsdirect (or Outbackoutlet.com for that matter) are going to be nicer hats than the Whit Sunday (cheap Chinese fur felt, pressed leather sweat), I have placed multiple orders with Outback Outlet and have never enjoyed anything less than exemplary customer service each and every time. Cast aspersions on the product if you will, but the merchant in question has proved to be a stand-up guy.

Hold the caffeine?

The "HAT". Yes, the "HAT". As another option out there for a similar safari-esque hat; a trustworthy felt safari-esque option from Akubra. The vendors of either of these choices had no significance in the recommendation.

Rick...maybe he meant the "hat" was trustworthy?...[huh]

Understood. Sorry for my confusion... seemed to be some ambiguity there...no doubt in my interpretation alone. Mea Culpa. No offense intended, Gentlemen.
I might then add the service I received from hatsdirect was noteworthy as well. Five business days from OZ to the middle of the North American continent, quite impressive.

Akubra Safari available in tawny fawn (shown), cruiser grey, fern green, or navy for about $61 USD plus shipping.

Of course, Akubra makes a boatload of Safari-style hats in a variety of colors, brim widths, hatband materials and widths, and two different felt qualities.

The Safari is pretty much the CEO with vent holes and two alternate color selections (tawny fawn and navy in lieu of the CEO's black and burgundy).

Yes, it's more than $30, but it's not that much more, considering it would hold up to a succession of real safaris.

Ya know...that Safari is a dead ringer for the first "Adventurer" that was carried by Outback Outlet for a brief time. Minus the holes and the bound edge brim.:D

Mike K's option is VERY cool. I scored the old Banana Republic fur felt off Ebay for a song, but the best deals in my opinion, depending on your size, are the Akubra "digger" type hats. You can find them on Ebay often for under $50 if you take your time. At that price, you can afford one to keep as is, and one to experiment with ( trim, etc...).
