Basketball is king in Indiana. Hoosier Hysteria, the high school basketball tournament in Indiana, ended yesterday.

Here in NE Indiana, HS basketball is second stage to HS football.

I'm proud to announce, that my alma mater, Bishop Luers High School, has added their first boys Basketball state championship to their numerous football and girl's basketball state championships.

Do you think that that Quarterback knows what Train hit him? Too bad about the NCAA tourny. I was pulling for Indy. So does everybody in NE Indiana wear a Panama?

Boy, did that hit cause an uproar. Allegations of an illegal hit were immediately given by the father of the QB. It was rather ludicrous. The LB is one of the most humble kids and was only doing it in the name of FB.

There are a handful of FB coaches wearing hats around here.

I don't think the shot to the QB is as bad as it looked. It appeared he was leaving is feet as the LB contacted him. Once you start up you essentially become weightless. When the LB put a solid shot on him, there was no resistance. A throwing QB is a vulnerable creature. It was a righteous hit.

As for the basketball tournament, congratulations. And remember when the Indiana state tourny was open format? Anybody could win it.

Having lived in NW Indiana, I'm quite familiar with Hoosier Hysteria. A good friend of mine was on some of the radio broadcasts for a number of years before moving to North Dakota. Even though "Da Region" is regarded as Indiana's ugly stepchild, they're just as basketball mad there as the rest of the state.

The best part of the hit was when the kid woke up and went nuts trying to fire his team up.



Yeah, I remember when the tourney had schools of 55 kids playing schools of 4,000. I'm glad they made the change. Milan won in 1954 or something like that and only because they held the ball for minutes at a time.

Da Region...gotta love it. The accent, the Mexican food, the Hobart Brickies! Hey, didn't that baseball player who started all of the steroid stuff come from Da Region?

As an X Hoosier I no longer follow it. They killed it with the class system!

One tournament basketball only allows the mega-high schools to win with any type of consistency. As a small school follower, class sports is truly a blessing.
