I just came by this heavy wool US Naval Academy coat and I'm wondering what it's designation is and what era it's from.
I've seen a lot of pea coats but never a coat like this. The wool is thick an heavy like an older pea coat, but this one is long like a trench coat and double breasted. All the tags have been removed except for one that indicates it was made for the US Naval Academy.
There is an "8/69" written in pen on the tag -- which may be a date but the look and quality of the coat make me think it's older that 1969. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
