This is probably going to be my last purchase for a while, until I can make some room in my closets. Couldn't resist the price. It'll be my first Hercules.

VERY nice! :) I particularly like the patina the leather has developed. Looks to be sturdy, and in great condition. Can't beat vintage originals when found like this.

It arrived today... it's airing out now.

The grain and patina on the leather is not to be believed. This isn't super heavy FQHH, but it is a nice midweight and very supple. I get the impression that authentic vintage jackets tend to use a lighter weight leather than what we see today in reproductions.

Most of the topcoat is gone, leaving amazing, naked leather beneath. It doesn't really get any better than than this.

The lining is red nylon, with brown knit storm cuffs, showing a fair amount of dirt. I'm wondering what the best way to clean the lining without touching the leather is. Damp sponge and woolite?

Nice man. Those vintage Herc jackets feel like old baseball mitts. It's really a great HH and super easy to wear. I'd agree about most vintage HH being lighter with a few exceptions. I had a 12 lb 50's era CAL that made Stu's leather feel like cheesecloth.

Now that is a jacket! I hope Stu doesn't see your post or he will be out to find that hide.

Guppy: With a lining that nice, I think I too would want to clean it. Woolite won't damage the leather; hell some members here wash their jackets in hot water and regular detergent!

Easily the thickest, heaviest leather I've ever encountered. Even without the Garrison belt it weighed over 10lbs. I've never seen anything else like it and likely won't ever again. Sadly it was one size too small and I felt every bit of its weight squarely on my shoulders!
