The online radio show deals with Classic Hollywood. They agreed to help promote my Leila petition. The host kept mispronouncing her first name and asked for someone to call in and give him the correct pronunciation. So I called He wound up interviewing me about Leila. I detect a true Philly accent, too

I always pronounced her name "Lee-la", also. I like "Ly-la" better! And here's another scan from May 1928 issue of Motion Picture Classic. Sorry it's a bit crooked, but sometimes it's really hard to get a straight scan from such old, delicate magazines!

Believe it or not, I first pronounced her name LAY-LA. Most people never pronounce her first name correctly when they read it lol
