Hey guys,
I have been on the lookout for a hat that fits my taste for a long time. Recently I saw the Lock & Co 'Rambler' hat, and its exactly what I'm looking for.
http://www.lockhatters.co.uk/Rambler-details.aspx

The problem is that there XL is only 7 1/2, and im more like 8 1/8 - which makes any hat buying near impossible.
I asked Lock & Co about making a custom one, but they don't offer that service.
Has anyone seen a very similar hat, or would know where to even start looking for something like this?

I like that its flat brimmed and not too structured. Reminds me of a modern amish hat! :)

Thanks for any info or advice!
Adam

Don't spend 99 pounds on a woolie! Spend two or three hundred US dollars on a custom fur felt. There are lots of threads around here addressing various custom hatters, which would probably be what you'd have to look into anyway, considering your head size.

You're lucky to be near one: Baron Hats in Burbank (although they can be extremely high-priced), and Knudsen Hats up in the bay area would be worth checking out if you drive north very often. Otherwise most custom hatters have websites, and driving distance is no longer an issue. Welcome to the lounge!

Thanks for the reply,
I looked into Baron Hats - they don't seem to have a great reputation for there service, which surprises me for the prices they charge.
I might stop by there shop anyways. thanks for the Knudsen Hats recommendation ill contact them as well.

Look at Akubra com! There are hat sizes available from 53 to 63. I am sure you can order a custom made hat size too!

AdamL, Welcome to the Lounge. I will be in Santa Monica at the end of this month so if you would like a private fitting let me know and we should be able to schedule it. Since you don't have enough posts please just call or email me. As for the hat itself? piece-o-cake
