Not the view from my front porch, more's the pity...

Anyway - back to the question.

Vancouver weather has been poopy and grey all July; maybe one week of summer weather tallied up in all of July but it seems to be getting better.

The strawberries sucked this year but the blueberries are pretty good.

Me too!
My summer has been one of the hottest I remember.
At least I've used most of it to get a tan on the weekends.
The banana tree is growing well, and the rose bushes are full of blooms.
Oh, and I've been through 2 fly traps so far. Dern things fill up quick.
Now to keep the Bedlington away from it...she loves that thing!

We have had some record heat this year. The blueberries were delicious, the peaches are delicious. We have had a bounty of cucumbers for pickling, and some of the best tomatoes I can remember and lots of fresh basil to go with them. The patrons at my pool are still stupid and rude. I sing constantly. That would be my summer.

Great pics Lolly. Lemons? Very nice...
At least during the summer I don't have to put as much charcoal in the grill when I cook out. I only need to add another 100-150 degrees!!!
Tonight it's steak, chicken, and some sausages. I cook the last two and freeze them for thawing during the week, so we don't have to wait as long to eat. If my wife enjoyed the furniture and me smelling like Pecan wood, I wouldn't have to take my 3rd shower for today...I think it smells manly.:D

On the move again...
Summer here has been fairly mild. I think this wee it finally feel like summer here. Though I'm not complaining. We just recently moved here and if we were still in Central California we would be feeling triple digits.
On an even better note for this summer I just got employment!:D I start on Monday, so it is a high point for my summer since I was out of work for one year and one month. So, this summer is turning out to be a capitol one for mu family at least.

Cheers!

You can have my global warming! We had out hottest June on record, followed by what will probably be our hottest July on record. We had a heat wave last week, then 2 days that felt darn near chilly at 95F, then another heat wave this week. We average 33 days of 90F or greater, and we hit that on Friday, with still August and September to go. In addition to the heat. I sprained my ankle a couple weeks ago and was in a car accident, hit by a guy who thought he could beat me through an intersection. I had the green light, BTW. Summer can end now, please.

Congratulations, Dan!

My wife found work a couple of months ago, actually working for the same company as I. She was out for six months and the regular unemployment had just ended.

Summer here has been very hot and humid, no fun at all. A/C in the car has trouble keeping up, and I often spend half of my work day driving. Our house's A/C needs to be checked out, too. I'm being kept busy with work, school, and granddaughter. I just moved to the accelerated program so instead of 10 weeks per class it's five. On the plus side I'll finish on the 25th of Sept. I told my wife not to expect me to do much else for the remaining 8 weeks or so.

It's been too hot and muggy to do much of what I need to do around the property, anyway. Maybe by the time I'm finished with school the temperatures will be back down into somewhat comfortable ranges!

Cheers,
Tom

Nashville- well, close enough
It's hot, hot, hot, I thought after moving here (Tennessee) from Florida, I'd be ready for it. But there's no ocean breeze, just hot and sticky! Just like my kidhood in Kentucky- I should have known:).

But I just passed my two-year mark with my employer, and I love them. I like the people, the work, and the company. I was once told by my pastor to look for what lies at the "center" of something. Meaning, if things are going bad (or good), what is the force behind them. Well, I had to take a couple of weeks off to deal with a death in my family, and the workplace did nothing except make it easy for me. I therefore conclude that I work for good people. This makes me very happy.

And now- on to looking for a house to buy!

Our summer has been less brutal than some recent. We have had the glorious respite of being able to employ a 'caregiver' for 12 - 15 hours a week for our handicapped son (George, 17.) during his interminable summer vacation which enables us to take turns relaxing/ working out/ playing tennis and such while not worrying about his welfare.
George has been enoying it more too - as much that he is a 'Daddy' or "Mommy's' boy ....he's heard all our stories a million times.
The lady that looks after him for us is also one of his 'aides' at school, so she knows him well and will be there to greet him when school starts again in about 23 days 10hours and 36 minutes!!!!

Thank you Tom! Yeah, my unemployment would have run out in September, so this turns out to be a good summer. 2010 just sucked, but summer 2011 is looking better.
The weather this weekend is in the low 80's which is great for outdoor activities. Open up the house and let the breeze flow through.

Cheers!

I am SO tired of summer. I'm an autumn/winter person, so summers are really hard for me. Still, I'm enjoying fresh veggies from our garden. :)

We've had a handful of nice days here in Juneau, I'd say about three weeks worth now spread out from June until now, but mostly it's been cool and rainy... very fall like weather, so I'm enjoying it.
