How well do knits wear on A2's and G1's?

I realise that the answers will vary; I'm looking for a general response.

How many years do you get out of knits (silverfish and moths aside) if you wear a jacket regularly but sensibly? Is wool more hard wearing? I'm also interested: do the nylon knits on G&B jackets last?

Aero's worsted merino wool knits are very durable, keep their shape, and don't loose much of their original elasticity. They can even be carefully handwashed and return to their shape.
On the A2 the waistband is a double layer of knit whereas on the M422a and AN6552 Aero use deadstock single weave knits which tend to loose their shape quite quickly. I can't recommend those.

The poly/wool blend on G&B knits is very durable but feels less comfortable compared to pure wool. As HoosierDaddy pointed out synthetic blends do pill. From my experience G&B uses a high quality wool blend which holds up very well. I've seen polyester knits on other manufacturers jackets that looked awful after one or two years of wear.
G&B also offer pure wool knits for their heritage line. Maybe those are available for any jacket on special request...
