Is there a site out there that will give you some rules as to how and what shape of hat one should wear in proportion to their height and weight?

Maybe some forumites may have such information available?

My advice to new hat wearers is to try different styles to find one to suit you. Do not let what others think of your height and weight influence your style. The rules are all well and fine but you have to wear the hat and should be the final decision on the particular style.

I have also enjoyed Alan Flussers books and, if you have the opportunity, I highly recommend a visit to his shop in NYC. The Chesterfield of my dreams appears on his web page - a mustard colored tweed with fawn colored velvet collar...

I'd say that once you get one narrow brim and one wide brim to experiment with you'll be able to see a picture of a hat and know if it's for you or not.

My apologies in advance, but I have to say it.

Q. How to wear a hat?

A. On one's head, I should hope.

Reminds me of tom Robbins' book Another Roadside Attraction. A character wears a motorcycle helmet on his knee, because the new law (late 60s) says one must be worn, but does not say where.

Great book by the way.
