My wife has enjoyed my foray into fedoras so much that she has expressed an interest in having her own
Any advice on how to size a hat for her? Should it be snug or loose enough that it doesn't leave her with hat hair? Ladies, please comment if you have any other considerations that a guy wouldn't think of...Thanks, Hoss

I don't know how they're doing it these days, but all of the vintage hats that my wife has are simply sized by their circumference, in inches, measured the same way around the head that you'd measure for yourself. That's all I know about women's hats, and most of what I know about women.

Well said! Ask Indycop. He buys hats for them in a variety of ages. If he can do it...well, you know. :)

I have a few men's fedoras (I'm a woman :D ) and several horseback riding hunt caps (unisex) and the sizing is the same as men's hat sizes. You measure your head and wear the size that corresponds to the measurement.

Sounds good...I guess I was wondering if the ladies who were "experienced" (fedora-wearers, of course :eusa_doh: ) had any insight into it that I wouldn't think of. Like, oh, I don't know...that's why I was asking. I'll measure her head with a comfortable amount of pressure to compensate for the thickness of her hair and we'll go from there...sounds like I was making a bigger deal of it than I needed to. Thanks again, Hoss
