How to fix the old Crown Zipper when the plastic film at bottom is gone?

Hello again everybody,
Does anyone have a clue what could be done to a zipper that has had the plastic protection come of at the bottom of the zipper?

I have always wondered if there is any way to re-apply this protective film on the zipper.

The plastic is to keep the zipper tape stiff.
If it has gone, you could replace it with glue, or paint- something that will soak into the cloth and become hard.

This may Help

Try brushing A thin stroke of fiberglass resin. But not a lot It will soak in and stiffin it up a little. But dont get it to close to the zipper teeth or you will have a hard time zipping it up! Then you will have to get the old roto tool out. Remember A little goes a long way. Try puting tape over the teeth to cover the areas that you don't want the resin on. Good luck and if done right you will be amazed.
