How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

BS, Crown main zippers are $250...
Personally i don't have a problem paying that price for them, he is one of the only makers providing them, he can charge what he wants.
If everybody else had them in stock for half of what he charges i would understand but this isn't the case.
He definitely charged $450 for the Leathertogs A (Pocket/Sleeve Crowns: 5- $40.00 each - $200.00, #10 Crown - 250.00. total Crown $450). It's obvious that not everyone is getting the same conditions....

Another thing to consider about the Crown upcharge is that when you purchase the zipper from Stuart it comes with his guarantee and warranty. If something goes wrong with it I assume that he will step up and replace it for no charge.
I come across this from time to time in my electrical contracting business when I have clients who choose to purchase certain light fixtures or other items that I would normally provide. I always explain to them that they are welcome to do this but that they are sacrificing the warranty on the materials that I would normally provide if I purchased them myself.

I was just just joking as usual...haha, I know German (more specific Bavarian) humor... :)
It's my fault if I accept $450 just for zippers. On the other hand I wanted to handle them after hearing so many positive experience and I don't regret anything as I really like the jacket!
Btw. I was just talking to Stu about a red deerskin Leathertogs B...waiting time 6-8 weeks...OK...another Bavarian stupid jokeo_O:eek:

Same price i paid for all my jackets, what i meant is that the main crown zipper is 250$ not 450$ as implied above.
As i said above, can you name another maker that offers a full Crown package for less?

Ah, my bad, I was sure they're $450 for some reason. Probably confused them with mods price for my jacket.

Imagine you can get almost a SB high quality leather jacket for the price of Crown zippers....I'm sure Stu is still laughing about my stupidity to accept the price he offered....

Stu believes in his Crown zipper. He's not laughing at you, he's laughing at everyone who whose jacket doesn't have a Crown zipper. You're okay now. Saved from mediocrity & metrosexuality.

I didn’t pay $450 for the full crown treatment on my leathertogs. Close to $100 less.

I would recommend the main crown zip. Reliable, good looking, etc.

I really like Talon too. If I get another LW from Stuart, I’ll fork over $250 for the main zip but will just go with Talon on the sleeves, pockets, etc. Save some money.

I agree with you and would do it exactly this way next time

Are those Crown zips cast in ?! That’s crazy cash for just zips but to each his own. For less than those zips, I just bought two 70s Schott truckers! Slumming it I guess! Bad seller pics so fingers crossed on the condition they arrive in

Thought I’d change it up here. Not a jacket but new race leathers for the upcoming 2021 season. Full race fit, pretty snug but should relax/mold a little (usually impossible for me to get long enough sleeves and legs from off the shelf suits, gauntlet gloves and race boots to cover the gaps). This suit is built to race with all the pre-curve in the arms and proper stretch zones.

Hello everyone,
I've been a lurker for some time but have finally decided to go all in on TFL. I was introduced to this forum by @dudewuttheheck via his Instagram Almostvintagestyle. This place has been a wealth of knowledge and great community of enthusiast. I work as a cobbler so my first preference has always been shoes and boots. The trade has brought out my love of leather not only in footwear but now in jackets and other leather goods.

The incoming jackets!
I have two Himel brothers on the way, they were ordered towards the end of September and measurements were sent in about a month later. I am expecting the first one in the next month or so, then the second one will be made and sent out shortly after the measurements are confirmed. I will be getting a Canuck as well as the Heron A-1.
The Canuck is in Shinki medium brown oil tanned
The Heron is in Shinki medium brown pigment finish

I was always drawn to what Himel has been making and his knowledge of the industry to unlike many others. These will be my first two leather jackets and definitely not the typical route one takes into this hobby. My experience with footwear has taught that I'm not interested in working my way up from the "beginner" brands to the higher end ones. This is often seen with people buying Red wings then Viberg, and culminating somewhere around Clinch just for example. I found that I had wasted a lot of time and money starting at the lower tier brands and would have been better off saving up for the higher end/MTM brands. I preferred to have something MTM for the jacket, so that I know that fit would be more or less spot on. Now I know that it is pretty ridiculous to get two Himels at once in two similar leathers but they were two best jackets I've seen and absolutely love the medium brown from Shinki. Both jackets are button front as I despise zippers on anything, I've fixed enough zippers to know that I don't want to deal with them. I will definitely post pictures of the jackets once they are here in either this post or its own dedicated post. I don't regret my decision and can't wait to get them in. Glad to be a part of this forum!

I just placed my order with Aero so that a production slot could be reserved for me.
Will a Sheene either in natural Vicenza or unfinished horsehide. And I'm still undecided about some details. But it still takes some time to go into production.

Good way of doing it. Back when I last bought a new jacket - 2014 - I ordered ahead and visited the factory just before it was due to go into production to nail down the details. When my next orders come up, I'll hopefully do the same again.

I have this leather trucker coming from the UK. To add to my Australian made "Frantik" suede.
As usual hoping it fits, always the way. Listed as a "Schott" (which 100% I don't think it is !)
Also listed as MADE IN THE USA. Will see when it gets here to Perth Western Australia.
It was not expensive at $140 Australian delivered , and I do find other "Original Hardware '57" jackets online.
More likely to be Pakistan or India. Does anyone on the lounge recognise the maker/label ?
