Really like this one and the front curves reminds me just a little bit of the RMC Dead Wood jacket... the rest is different I know)...I guess gray would look good on the Brooks!

Got 2 jackets on the way via ebay.
One is a horsehide barnstormer type and the other is a simple goatskin number.

They're meant to block wind and rain and protect you from road rash in the event of an accident. Not meant to be warm I'm afraid. Size up and layer accordingly.

THat was the genius of the Lewis Twin Track Bronx (from 1966) - neat fit in the Summer, and a second zip for wider fitting to accomodate a Winter layer.

Interesting to note that the biggest motorcycle cultures in the US are clustered around areas where the climate is more or less permanent Summer....

I can ride year round in Perth Western Australia as long as it is not raining. For 15+ years a Harley was my sole transport 310 days per year. Hence my original leather jacket "fixation". Folks from the UK reckon it is not "cold enough" for leather jackets here. Riding to work 7am it can be 3C in "winter" but 18C on the ride home (lovely !).

I'll never forget my first pillion ride - shocked, I was, at how much colder it was at 50mph than at dead stop! (And it masde sense of all those years I wodnered how Those Bikers could wear leather in wartm weather: they stayed on the move!).

Snagged a brown Brooks CR with a massive spread collar. Still would like to find one in black or grey. The style reminds me a bit of a poor mans premier HWM. Anxious to see how it fits.

I've got a few jackets from this company. This is one of their later edition probably from the 50s.

I know folks don't like these or won't wear them. Doesn't look like this one was worn much. Excellent condition through out.

I like this fringed shirt. You definitely rock this look. When I picked up my fringed Schott jacket a few months back, I said there was at least one member here who I could easily picture wearing fringe and looking great. That, sir, was you. And these photos prove it.

But of course! The nice thing is that these classic Brooks jackets can be had for peanuts and while they aren't anywhere near amazing in terms of material or construction, they did absolutely nail the fit of a CR down to the ground.

I need to pick up one of these. The piping in the front and the collar is Just so 70s.

Looks very cool! I'm curious - are there ways to change the direction or spread of a collar? How would you do that?
