How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

I’ll be sure to post pics and a review when I have it in possession. I will be back in the states tomorrow for a couple of weeks (NJ and a short trip to New England).

Thanks! Looking forward to sharing them.

Hey @marker2037 did you ever receive your Thedi Atlas / Field Jacket style? If so, what are your thoughts? Any pics?

This is the 442 in horsehide. It looks pretty dull

Their dark brown sheepskin looks 10000x better

@MrProper ^^^What Marc said. Lewis horse is utility style leather, chrome tanned, painted finish. Very tough, will go through water and heat without changing shape. But does not age at all. Vinyl like.
Lewis veg tan Sheep is THE BOMB! Really luxurious and premium stuff.
I have the same jacket in both leather. I would go sheepskin over horse for Lewis.
Lewis is suppose to come out with a veg tan horse. But it could get expensive like their veg cow.

The sheepskin really does have a lot more character. I can see the appeal of both

Thank you very much for your advice.
I'm glad I requested sheepskin anyway.
I didn't have that on the radar at all. But after some positive reports here, I should try it out.

Just picked up this beauty. I have no idea who the maker is, looks like it could be a Langlitz or Cal - but absolutely no idea. Hide is the heaviest I’ve ever seen. Size 42. Probably looking to get a collar made by JL. If anyone can help with identifying it, it would be much appreciated. This thing is an absolute beast!

Also, new to the lounge!

Cal Leathers make the very best collar for that jacket. Their mouton is by far the very best I have seen in the new production jackets like yours. However, your jacket is Not Cal leather. Your jackets have several distinct stitching practices I have seen in Al's of Ventura. Two points I can distinctly differentiate are the end of the sleeves finishings and the front cross zip stitching over the right pocket. Furthermore, the belt loops are different in the way they snap. Lastly, Cal has been doing their own belts. That particular belt could be an addition but it looks to me like a Don Hume. knowing how proud Cal leathers are from their belts, I doubt they would contract out. Lastly, I think the applets are not consistent with their style for this particular model. To be honest, the bottom left side looks like it has a snap? That is also a strange aspect of this jacket. If you show more detailed pictures of the inside of the jacket perhaps it could help identify it better. There is a wealth of knowledge in this forum. My self excluded of course.

I would be Stoked too! I love wool jackets. There are many great ones out there often for not a lot of money. This is a Beauty!

Thanks Terry! I have a few lighter wool options that I really like so this one will be in good company.

I probably won't have all that many days where a jacket of this apparent weight will get use...but at the price I feel like it'll be easy to get my money's worth.

As much as I love the Grizzly style...not sure I'd really get the wears in to justify it to myself.

I'm really stoked about this one coming in Tomorrow! It's Beauty was presented here and I did not notice. I think it larger than small, but most likely won't fit the current me. Too much in the middle still!
I am not knowledgeable about the Harley branded jackets. I've owned a couple and looked at others. Often the issues were size, though I saw issues I did not like with some of their leathers. Jackets that did not look well used had serious leather issues. I just saw that too many times and it sticks in my head.

I'm thinking the back has had some adornment now removed, so I'm curious about damage. The Belt looks a little thick, so may not be original. Does appear to have the original Conmar zippers. I'm judging this leather as rather substantial for the time c. early-mid 50s. Probably shouldn't clean this one!

Will be fun to explore and compare with others, so an extended stay will be necessary. Fit or not it will probably be difficult to part with. It has the right details to be a nice piece of MC History just hanging around. Folks pay for HD memorabilia, not sure why jackets are not seen as such.
