The A-2 jacket I ordered 8 to 9 years ago still hasn't arrived. I've already paid the deposit.
I recently sent an email inquiring about it, but I haven’t gotten a reply yet.
I've bought leather jackets from several manufacturers before, but this is the first time something like this has happened, and I'm really confused.
How many days does it usually take to receive a reply from Goodwear Leather?

Far as I can see you did not write anything unnecessaryI wanted to make sure I read correctly, I have just never seen a wait time of that length. Also, recently there was a discussion on how hard it is to actually be able to buy a Goodwear jacket. And that his communication is hit or miss As he is a one man show.

You're either an extremely patient person or have extremely low standards for lead time.
How would anyone find that kind of wait acceptable is beyond me.
I wouldn't be surprised if the owner forgot about your order.
Maybe reach out by phone? Maybe should have done that at least once a year for the last 5 years..
Anyway, hope you get it sorted out.

Good wear leather is quite notorious in this lounge. John Chapman by information and belief makes an outstanding jacket, but it appears - he’s really NOT making them for a lot of people.

Countless stories like yours, both in respect of lead times between 5+ years and infinity and in respect of ignoring communication attempts.

If you already paid or made a deposit, I would suggest to try to call him. For all I know, he is a very decent guy, just overwhelmed with is admin stuff.

I think this is about right. And if you don’t reach out to John he probably is not going to reach out to you. I would suggest daily emails and phone calls until he replies. If this seems like too much hassle you could always ask for your deposit back.

Yeah, that’s definitely an impressive display of patience. I waited about 2 1/2 years before I started my barrage of emails and phone calls And I had my first GW about 6 months later

No, his deposit is not gone. If he asks for a refund, he will receive one. Plenty of people have done this in the past and they have all received their refunds.
