Interesting video! These are what pass as Bowlers and Toppers today. :) They probably don't want to deal with hand stitching through fairly stiff felt regarding the ribbon/bow(being generous) . It was standard practice to tape or glue liners in Bowlers and Toppers. I only have a couple of vintage Bowlers that actually have stitched liners.

Neat. I had a John Bull topper from Burgess hats for a time. I believe someone here at the lounge now owns it. It was wool and I couldn't get it to conform to my head shape very well. The crown was stiff and the brim was not. One day I'd like to get a finer version: fur and a long oval.

Great video, never seen that before. Would love to see how a handmade hat is made. Anyone have a link for how handmade or high end hats are made?

Well I am good at messing up a link. Just go to the Optimo site and click on "hat making". There are a few videos there that are cool to watch. I suppose its
not the norm for one hat maker to advertise another, but I feel there is plenty of work for all of us and good work should be noticed. I don't know Graham, but I really do respect the work that he puts together.
