How can you tell if it's Punti sizing?

Here's my conundrum: in Punti, I'm a 7 or a 7 1/2. How do I know if the old Borsalinos I look at that are labeled "7" or "7 1/2" are Punti-sized or USA-sized? Any definite way to tell?

As if metric and USA and UK sizing aren't enough to keep track of!

Thanks. I'm more referring to whether or not there are specific physical markings/characteristics on Punti-sized Borsalino hats that would identify them as such?

Not so that I can find. I know some of the sweatbands of american model hats which I have are marked in punti under the sweatband (ex: my 7-1/4 is stamped 6 under the sweat up front).

I would say that if you're seeing a hat with a marked size of less than 6 3/4, you're looking at the PUNTI sizing system.

Right, but as I said, here's my conundrum: in Punti, I'm a 7 or a 7 1/2. There's no way for me to distinguish between standard 7 or 7 1/2 in US sizing, UK sizing, or Punti sizing without asking for internal measurements, which I'll continue to do since it seems there's no good way to immediately identify Punti sizing.
