Saving that old soldier

I recently had some luck saving a Stevens' I bought on the cheap. I took it apart (scary, but surprisingly simple), washed the hat in woolite and let it air dry. When it had dried, I turned in inside out, sewed it back together, and voila! Good as new!
Since the hat is turned inside out, the creases are still there so getting the crush right is very straight foward. A little steaming using the kettle is all I needed to do.
Of course, if that sucker is 7 5/8, forget what I've said. You have an impossible task ahead of you. Please let me save you the heartbreak by taking that wreck off your hands...

It only sounds extreme, it is very simple "surgery". I can't sew on a button without loosing a pint of blood in the process, but I did my hat without a problem.
I've never seen "Mulholland Falls". It has always been on my list to rent, but never got around to it.
