I believe you can request such a thing but I think it would be harder to do with CXL because it is usually so uniform and smooth when it is new. I think that is one reason that some people opt for the tumbled CXL.

I ordered an Aero (Crosszip) in blackened brown Vicenza. Hope it was a good choice.
I don't know if my old Aero Cafe Racer is a blackened brown CXL, but the brown leather definitely gets through.

All CXL Aero is using is dyed. Only the finish colored, the core is always brown so yep.

I have an Aero type 3 in blackened brown Vicenza that I purchased last October. I have worn it pretty regularly throughout the winter and spring and it still looks practically brand new! Even the usual wear spots. (around the cuffs, at the seams, etc.) are still black. On the one hand I would like to see some of the brown showing through but on the other hand I am pleased that this jacket is not going to look broken in and old overnight.

It’s lighter but still substantial and definitively much more comfortable than CXLHH.

One sleeve is black CXL FQHH, one is Vicenza Blacken Brown HH, one is Black teacore Shinki. they feel very different in the hand, but from a photo of a section of the jackets I cannot tell the difference.

My vote still goes to 2.5oz cxl FQHH, softened. Just my personal preference. All good leather.

Much lighter than CXL horse or steer. It feels substantial, but it is easy to wear right out of the box.
