I used to peer in the window of his old shop over a decade ago, always afraid to go in. I've had a few conversations with the man himself and he certainly knows his stuff. His new venture looks fantastic.

He used to work out of San Francisco and was a standard at the Vintage Fashion Expo.

BAck in 2000, his FashionWeek runway show had Sopranos actors wearing the clothes.

There is not a huge following for the kind of anachronistic wide-bodied clothes Mr. Savoia makes. Still, the tailor, who was trained by his Sicilian grandfather and at the Fashion Institute of Technology, has made a living assembling suits for men who compete in dance competitions.

Arenella's outfit above is not Savoia made but a mix of vintage and new.

Michael is wearing a vintage jacket from the early '20's, Ralph Lauren pants, and a vintage bowtie. His hat is Borsalino from the '30s and his shoes are Allen Edmonds. Savoia Tailor on Essex Street is his favorite store.

We have been swamped with Broadway costuming so we are not around much.
The House is a showroom and affords us the apportunity to present our vision. We are putting the final touches on our ready to wear line that will slowly make its way to the House this spring.

Easter Parade Suits

Incidentally, I noticed this pic on FLICKR of the Easter parade, specifically Roddy's latest black suit from Savoia(far right).

The snapshot doesnt do it justice. Its a beautiful black atomic fabric with silver/grey details. Very impressive in person.

Has anyone heard of West Coast(that'S what was on the tag)? My ex-Girlfriend bought a pair of slacks for me that were identical to the ones in the picture. For the life of me I haven't been able the brand myself though.
