My Optimo Dillinger is from before they switched to all-beaver for their standard weight, and is a wild hare & beaver blend IIRC. It was not the most pliable hat at the outset but softened up quite nicely over time (to be clear it takes creases just fine, but the way Graham talks about "wiping" a crease into the crown? Not so much).

This may or may not be the blend that is available to Hornskov through FEPSA; but I guess my point is, yeah, rabbit/beaver blends are good!

My next hat will be 50x beaver, so i will see!
So what do you think of the 50/50 beaver/hare felt? Are you able to compare it to other vintage and custom or modern felt hats you own?

I will say the 80/20 rabbit/beaver felt in the Everyman Indy hat from Penman is very nice, but it's not Winchester felt. IIRC, it's sourced from Portugal or Brazil and very nearly the equal of Winchester pure beaver.

So, I have no problem with a 50X beaver hat from Europe.

The modern USA 50/50 rabbit/ beaver hat i had was not impressive, at least to me.

I'm very impressive with this blend. Very very soft felt. I would also believe when it was 100x beaver. So yes, i would recommend it. And yes, i'm a big Hornskov fan :)

I'm a real Hornskov fan, so i ordered my 3rd hat. This time a center crease it will be in 100% beaver in natural color, like the picture. The ribbon color i don't know yet, but i think it will be a darker brown or something. The picture of the blue one, is the style i will go for. Nice Marcel!

I like Hornskov hats as well but like all custom ones they have their own cons too. As far as I know we don't have any thread specified for this hatter other than this one. Should we make a new one or?

Love his new video btw : https://www.instagram.com/tv/B7op3reno01/?igshid=1hr2ksfzzum6q

Panos

Edit* For your ribbon dark brown would be my suggestion or if you are hunting something more fancy, burgundy as in the pic... ;)

Thanks Panos.
That's a cool video indeed, i saw it yesterday.
Brown ribbon i like. I'm not so sure about the wine color in the picture haha.

Maybe a moderator could change this thread name just to 'Hornskov hats'? We don't need a 2nd thread imho.
